Katy Perry is a popular American singer, television judge, and songwriter whose songs and music are well-known for influencing the pop style and sound of the 2010s. She is one of the world’s best-selling music artists and sold more than 143 million records worldwide. Perry is the recipient of several accolades including a Juno Award, five American Music Awards, four Guinness World Records, five Billboard Music Awards, and a Brit Award. Perry used to sing in a church during her childhood. Rock artists Jennifer Knapp and Steve Thomas noticed her and brought her to Nashville to improve her writing skills. Perry signed with Red Hill Records and recorded her debut album ‘Katy Hudson,’ which was released in 2001. Following this, she has worked with songwriters like Dr. Luke, Anne Preven, The Matrix, Butch Walker, Scott Cutler, and others. Perry signed for Capitol Music Group after an executive at Colombia recommended her to the chairman of Virgin Records. Following this, she recorded her second album ‘One of the Boys,’ and in 2008, she released her lead single ‘I Kissed a Girl.’ The record label ‘Metamorphosis Music’ was started by Perry in 2014 where she signed her first artist Ferras.
